lots done on CB750

it has been very productive this weekend.

first of all, i found a guy who was trying to sell old junk CB750s (and some running ones) near by. went to his place friday evening and looked at many bikes and parts. i got seat hinge pins and left hand controller switch assembly for a decent price.

on the way home, bought a cheap universal turn signal relay at auto zone.

after getting home, i yanked the old left hand assembly out. the previous owner lost the horn button. he also rewired the switch. the result was no horn and no blinking turn signal.

the new assembly is completely original. before running the wire in the handlebar, i checked all the functionality and it ALL WORKED!!!! so put the wire in the handlebar and hooked all the wires. i also replaced the turn signal relay with the one i bought.

now i am so happy with flashing / blinking turn signals and a horn. (the horn is not loud enough for me, but it will do for now and it will pass the inspection.)

then today - saturday - i worked on the cam chain tensioner. the tensioner was frozen.

you see the tensioner body in the middle. it sin there with three 10mm bolts.

once the bolts were out, i had to give a gentle tap to get the assembly off the engine block.

FROZEN =(
the spring is not doing its job since the stem is frozen in the assembly.

UNFROZEN =)
with a gentle nudge, the stem came lose.

to install it back on, i put the stem back in place, put the retaining bolt on. then put the assembly back onto the engine block. after that, i release the tensioner by loosening the retaining blot.
