We rode to Boom Town Cafe in Sour Lake. Upon arriving, unfortunately, it went out of business. Desperate for breakfast, we made an attempt to search for a diner in largest town near by - Winnie.
We found a Cajun restaurant open - AL-T's. Without knowing anything about the place, we made an attempt. The food was very good. I was especially impressed with ALT's Toast - a small homemade loaf of bread, cut in 4, buttered and toasted, then put them back together into the original shape. It's basically a whole load of Texas Toast.
On the way back, we took the road to High Island, road through Bolivar Peninsula, and took the ferry back to Galveston.
Nice ride over all - about 200 miles.
