We have a West Marine store close by. I went there a few years ago looking for water proof 12v power outlet. I found this one.
The outer rectangular base can come off from the unit. So I installed in my left pocket.
To get to that result, here is what I did.
Took out the pocket. Masked it and located the center of the plug hole. I pre-drilled a small hole there, like 1/8 inch. Then used my 1 1/8 inch drill bit.
Then secure the outlet.
I wanted to make sure that LONG plug of my GPS would fit in there.
Looks good. Now I wire it to the panel I created the other day.
Put the pocket back in the fairing and DONE!
