The left front fork has had a weeping issue. Very small amount of the fork oil was noticed.
So after work, I made a fork seal cleaning tool from a diet Dr. Pepper bottle. I used a pair of scissors to cut out this shape.
The point of this tool is to get as much grime as possible. Contaminants get embedded between the fork seal and the fork.
Steps were
- Take the left fork off
- Take the fork dust cap off
- Insert this thin tool between the fork and the seal
- Try to get as much grime as possible
After the procedure, I pumped the fork several times. I saw no more marking left on the fork.
I will keep close eyes on it. If it continues with the leak, I'll get a new seal.
Happy riding.
