dang it. my 1997 4runner is whining like crazy. =( i think this is a transmission issue. i am a shade tree mechanic, but not THAT good. so we dropped it off at snyder transmission on fm518. just got a call from them. they charge nearly $500 to pull the transmission out to check and see what's wrong with it. oh, boy.... there goes my christmas money.
UPDATE: Dec. 14 Noon - DANG IT. it needs a remanufactured transmission. $3300 installed... bummer... at least it comes with 24 months/24,000 miles warranty. ohhhhhhhh, this hurts. =(
