I talked about the quality of the gas a few days ago. Yesterday, I filled my bike up with Chevron 89 octane - mid grade. In 90 miles so far, only one stall. That's actually good for this bike. Since the change to the iridium spark plug, I have not had any surges. I believe that has been cured, although the new plug is making my gas mileage to suffer.
The symptom of the stall is when you pull the clutch approaching the red light or stop sign. The bike just "dies". I am paying close attention and see how often this happens with 89 Octane. I will test it with Race Track 89 octane, Chevron 93 octane, and Race Track 93 octane. It takes me three days to go through the tank, so to complete this study, it will be a while.
